Sarah Gavin - CMO & EVP, The Trade Desk
Before Sarah Gavin became CMO and EVP of The Trade Desk in June 2026, she held two titles at once at Zendesk: chief communications officer and interim CMO. That dual role put brand, product marketing, campaigns, and demand generation under one leader during the company's AI transformation. Gavin built Zendesk's AI-first, resolution-focused narrative and ran ABM programs aimed at IT, HR, and operations buyers. She also rebuilt how marketing worked with sales. At Google Cloud, she led the largest team in the product marketing organization and owned the global "Why Google Cloud" narrative, down to a digital magazine written for CXOs. Outside the day job, she has chaired the board of the YMCA of Greater Seattle since 2020, a nonprofit with a $100 million annual operating budget.
Shachar G. Scott - CMO, Sunbit
Before consumer tech, Shachar G. Scott worked in women's advocacy, helping legalize emergency contraception through Planned Parenthood alongside then-Senator John F. Kerry. Apple recruited her in 2011 to lead market development for its digital advertising platform. Snap Inc. brought her on in 2017 as head of global brand marketing. At Bumble, Scott steered brand, product, and partnerships as the app expanded into 150 markets. Her Meta chapter ran four years. As VP of marketing for Reality Labs, she led brand and integrated marketing for Meta Quest, Horizon Worlds, and AI glasses such as Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta. She joined Sunbit as CMO in February 2026, with brand, product marketing, growth, communications, and community in her remit. Scott lives in Venice, came to the U.S. from Israel in 1985, and led a full rebrand for SAY: The Stuttering Association for the Young, where she sits on the board.
Kevin Frisch - CMO, Dave
At Intuit, Kevin Frisch was accountable for $6 billion in QuickBooks revenue and a marketing team of more than 200. Online revenue grew from $2.0 billion to $4.2 billion over three years, a 28% CAGR. He also repositioned QuickBooks from "accounting" to "run your business." A rebuilt acquisition model that put customer lifetime value first eliminated more than $20 million in non-incremental SEM spend. Before Intuit, Frisch ran a $650 million acquisition performance marketing program for Uber's Rides and Eats business in the U.S. and Canada. GSN Games gave him an unusually wide remit. As CMO there, he grew a three-person marketing team to 48, took on customer service and PR alongside user acquisition, and helped lift company revenue 40% and profit 89%. He has led marketing at Dave since November 2024.
Joanna Schloss - CMO, Applitools
While working on the Toad Business Intelligence Suite at Quest Software, Joanna Schloss launched a product extension that created a new Gartner category, End User Data Preparation. She came to marketing with an engineering background. Her product marketing career then moved into data and developer tools at Datameer, Confluent, Sauce Labs, and SmartBear, where she rose to senior VP of product marketing. CMO roles at Adeptia and Parasoft followed. Applitools named her CMO in January 2026. Schloss runs a proof-driven marketing organization there, focused on making AI-augmented quality the default way development teams check what users actually experience. Community is a recurring thread in her work. She has built developer communities, launched marketplaces, and backed open-source ecosystems.
Kevin Spurway - CMO, Saviynt
Employee engagement in Feedzai's marketing department sat at 35% when Kevin Spurway arrived as CMO in 2022. By the time he left, it was the highest in the company. He also doubled sales-qualified pipeline on a flat budget, partly through generative AI, helping increase ARR by roughly 50%. IPO work came earlier. At Appian, he developed new positioning to expand the company's addressable market ahead of its 2017 IPO, the top-performing software IPO of that year. Subscription software revenue there rose from $22 million in 2014 to $199 million in 2020. Similarweb was next. Spurway rebranded the company before its 2021 NYSE listing at a $1.6 billion valuation and grew marketing from 30 people to more than 110. He now runs global marketing at Saviynt.
Ben Schechter - CMO, FloQast
Ben Schechter has run businesses as well as marketing teams. At HomeAway, he was general manager of VacationRentals.com, overseeing product development, sales, and customer support along with marketing. Box later put him in charge of its self-serve Online Sales Business Unit. Revenue there rose more than 200%. Fantex is the outlier on his record. He joined before launch to bring an athlete and entertainer stock brokerage and marketplace to market. At Adobe, Schechter led campaign marketing, demand generation, field, and channel marketing for Digital Media's SMB and enterprise customers. RingCentral hired him as CMO in December 2022, where he ran a global organization of more than 125 people and repositioned the company from a single product to a multi-product offering. FloQast brought him in as CMO in September 2024.
Brian Czarny - CMO, Luminate
Brian Czarny keeps changing industries without leaving data. He joined Luminate as CMO in June 2026, marketing entertainment data and insights for music, film, and television. For four years before that, he led marketing at Jupiter Intelligence, which turns climate science into risk analytics for financial institutions and corporations. His earlier CMO roles were just as varied. RapidSOS links data from more than 350 million connected devices to emergency services, SecureAuth sells identity security, and Factual built a location data platform for marketers. Czarny counts Factual, TeleSign, Symplified, and MessageLabs among the companies he helped scale through growth and exits. He has mentored at Techstars in Los Angeles since 2016.
Jarrett Dube - Fractional CMO, Assembly Ventures
Nike's "Kobe Car Jump" drew more than 100 million views. Jarrett Dube worked on it during agency years at Wieden + Kennedy and CAA, where he also helped shape Nike's "Just Do It" campaigns for Greater China and the U.S. Olympics. On the brand side, he oversaw ESPN's "This Is SportsCenter" and the Gold Lion-winning "Without Sports" initiative. Samsung followed, with five years owning marketing for Mobile, 5G, Connected Living, Services, and VR/360. In 2023 he became CMO of TMRW Sports and TGL, the tech-driven 3v3 golf league co-founded by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy. Dube scaled a marketing organization of more than 50 people and shaped brand identities for all six inaugural franchises with ownership groups such as Fenway Sports Group and Arthur Blank. Licensing was new too. He built the league's program from the ground up with CAA and Fanatics. Since 2024 he has worked as a fractional CMO through Assembly Ventures, with clients such as Nike, iHeartMedia, Coca-Cola, ESPN, and Disney, and he spent a year as Fathead's chief marketing and brand officer.
Mark Fidelman - Head of Marketing, Exascale Labs
Seven token generation events and ICOs in seven years make Mark Fidelman an unusual fit for marketing GPU compute. Since November 2024, he has led marketing, brand, communications, and go-to-market at Exascale Labs. The company works in AI infrastructure, GPU compute, data centers, and power. Much of his job is turning complex technical capability into clear market messaging while building the marketing function itself. Before Exascale, Fidelman spent more than four years as chief revenue and marketing officer at Smartblocks, which tokenizes assets for fractional ownership. He remains a part-time CMO and advisor there. He credits his work in AI, blockchain, and eCommerce with contributing to more than $1 billion in cumulative revenue growth. Outside marketing, he has served as executive director of Kids Matter since 2020, a nonprofit for children affected by parental divorce or conflict.
Nicholas Drake - VP, Global Marketing & CMO, Platforms and Devices, Google
In 2010, the Los Angeles office of TBWA\Chiat\Day launched the Apple iPad and Nissan's electric car, then pulled Pepsi out of the Super Bowl. Nicholas Drake was its managing director, with clients such as Adidas, Apple, Activision, Gatorade, and Visa. He moved in-house as global CMO of Quiksilver, where the job covered Quiksilver, Roxy, and DC Shoes. T-Mobile came next. Drake joined as SVP of digital in 2015 and within two years led the consolidated CMO, digital, and product teams as EVP of marketing and experience. His final title there was EVP and chief innovator. Google hired him in November 2019. His Los Angeles ties continue through a board seat at Group 11 in Beverly Hills, which he has held since 2015.
Brand Work With a Revenue Line Attached
Few people here fit a single marketing box. Their careers move between agencies, consumer apps, enterprise software, and data companies, often picking up sales development, analytics, or general management along the way. Pipeline, ARR, and revenue growth sit next to rebrands and campaigns on nearly every record. AI runs through much of their current work too, whether in positioning, in how teams produce and test marketing, or in the products they sell. That mix reflects what the CMO job has become. Los Angeles has more of it than its entertainment reputation suggests.
